Refund policy

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. This applies to online orders only. If you purchase an item in store and change your mind, you can return it within 14 days with all original packaging but we will only offer store credit.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
To start a return, you can contact us at info@theguitartech.co.uk. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: The Guitar Tech, 8 Senacre Square, Maidstone, Kent ME15 8QF. Do not send us anything without first contacting us so we can open a return.

Please note we are only a small business so at busy times it may take up to 48 hours for us to reply to these requests.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. All issues related to this must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and goods that have come into contact with eyes, mouth, ears or nose (such as headphones, harmonicas and microphones). Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards.
Exchanges
If you want to exchange your item for something else, get in touch and we will attempt to make that as easy as possible for you.
European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Postage
We do not cover the cost of return postage under any circumstances, and we advise you to send items insured and make sure the postage company you use covers the item you are sending (Parcelforce do not cover guitars!).
Pre-owned items
Pre-owned guitars and similar are supplied with a one year warranty. They should be fully functional unless otherwise stated and we will rectify any issues that arise within that year provided there have been no modifications to the instrument after purchase.
Pre-owned electronic equipment, such as amps and effects, are supplied with a 3-month warranty. It is also important to note that this does not cover wear and tear on serviceable parts such as valves.
If we cannot resolve an issue with a pre-owned item then we will offer a refund or exchange where appropriate.
